“Perfectly Executed!”
“My wife and I loved New Orleans Storyville Museum. It's expertly curated, unquestionably immersive and perfectly executed. I could've easily spent 2-hours digesting the fascinating facts that accompany each of the exhibits. Conveniently and appropriately located on the Rampart side of the French Quarter within close walking distance of thousands of hotel rooms... and for the locals there's ample parking directly across Conti Street from the museum.”

“A Must See!”
“Just had the most amazing tour of one our newest museums, New Orleans Storyville Museum. An absolutely beautiful experience traveling through New Orleans’ naughty time history 👀😌 and the birthplace of Jazz music. Brothels, music, prostitutes, and more! Learned a lot of new info. Like, that poker was created in Storyville! This is definitely a must see when visiting New Orleans. Also a great experience for locals! Thank you Claus & Erica!”

“Highly Recommend!”
“A fabulous museum presenting the fascinating, rich, and sordid history of Storyville in a beautiful and tasteful way. The exhibits paid homage to jazz, sex work, and beyond in an honest and open way that felt respectful without sensationalizing while also making it fun to learn. I can’t wait to go back! Everyone who visits and loves New Orleans should learn about Storyville by visiting this museum”

“I am a New Orleans local, and always enjoy museum experiences. My visit to the Storyville Museum piqued my interest, because it is a topic off the beaten path. My journey through the Storyville Museum was an enriching and amazing experience, for sure. The setup was comparable to other high end, finely curated museums, such as the World War II Museum, although not nearly as large, naturally. The museum started with a central theme, which was that "in order to understand Storyville, you must first understand New Orleans." So the very first part of the experience has nothing to do with Storyville, but New Orleans and its history, which lays the foundation for understanding how Storyville came into existence, and how the sex trade evolved.
I won't ruin for you how this all fits together, but it does in a fascinating way, so you'll need to visit the museum to see for yourself. Additionally, I will say that the way the story is told, how the history unfolds, and the plethora of interesting original artifacts in the collection coalesce to ensure one will certainly be a good bit more enlightened by the end of the visit. Everything is presented very tastefully and objectively. There is nothing on display that could be considered raunchy or in poor taste.
For you history buffs out there, I believe there were 52 placards in total, explaining every step of the journey until the very end when Storyville was demolished and the sex trade was ended. There is enough historically accurate information to read through at the museum to keep you occupied for hours, if you choose to take a deep dive down that rabbit hole. I can't recommend a visit to the Storyville Museum enough, even for local New Orleanians, because I can promise you there will be new things learned about our beloved city by all!”

“Worth Two Visits!”
“I've been to the museum twice. The first time I got to learn a lot that I didn't know. Lots of history, original pictures, and artifacts there. The second time, I got to seem like I knew what I as talking about when telling a friend about everything. The museum owner was there. He wasn't just very knowledgeable, but excited when talking about everything. He's a local guy that's excited about New Orleans history. Overall, it's a great experience with lots of info about the reason for and development of Storyville.”

“Love, Love, Love!!!!”
“This museum is truly fantastic. I’ve always had a fascination for New Orleans Storyville and have read up quite a bit about it. The museum is a thorough storyline from the beginning to the end with lots of fun and interesting artifacts. The photos and aerial views of what New Orleans used to look like really take you back in time. I highly recommend this museum to everyone. It is appropriate for all ages, I believe, as there are fun photo opportunities and sets to marvel over.”

“Highly Recommend!”
“I was very excited to visit the Storyville museum in the French Quarter today. Storyville was the infamous red light district of New Orleans. The museum did an amazing job of laying out artifacts, providing information, and educating people about this long gone era from history. If you’re in New Orleans I highly recommend going.”

“Stunning Visuals”
“Of the museums I was able to visit in New Orleans, this was among my favourites. Though it involves a bit more reading than I usually care for in a museum, it’s delivered in “snackable” portions & is all quite interesting. The visuals are stunning & I appreciated their use of holography & the inclusion of everyday products from the period, be they as mundane as a pill bottle or as quirky as a peep show mutoscope. In addition to a wealth of information about the specific characters that made up Storyville, its role in the time period & New Orleans is also well-covered. You may not have as keen an interest in vice as I do but, if you get the chance, add this museum to your list”

“The Thing To Do!”
“The museum deftly tells the story of historical Storyville, the iconic New Orleans Red Light District. Storyville is an integral part of New Orleans, woven into the fabric and identity of The Big Easy.
The museum is handicap accessible. The exhibits are presented as descriptive information placards accompanied by photographs, interactive artifacts, and recreations. Very glad I went!”

“Captivating History”
“Fantastic new history museum within the Quarter… spent hours reading and learning of various parts of early New Orleans’ shady, yet captivating history. Where the original sin began… all the way through the end of the Storyville era. The immersive and entertaining sets and movies were done quite well, absolutely recommend stopping by if in New Orleans!
If you’re lucky enough to catch the founder and curator, Claus Sadlier… there’s a great chance he’ll give a tour through pointing out various aspects. Was great… thanks again!”
